Quazi Design is a distinctive craft company that promotes social responsibility and environmental awareness in design and everything they do.
Through innovative techniques and collaboration with designers, they believe in pushing the boundaries of craft, responsibility, and design, transforming magazines into original accessories and interior pieces, using only 100% waste magazines.
Based in Swaziland, all their products are hand made by local women, empowering them through skill sharing and earning a sustainable permanent income so they may become self-reliant and up lift their communities.
What began in November 2008 with one designer and one artisan, now employs over 10 artisans full time with a local retail shop and customers worldwide. Sibongile Maseko, the first artisan of Quazi Design is now the production manager and trains all the other woman producers, plus is in charge of orders, quality, and packing. With her salary she supports 9 dependents at her home stead, is training to be a preacher and still finds time to teach English in her community. She is truly inspirational.
