Terms & Conditions
The following terms and conditions apply to your use of the Shopping for a Change® Website including without limitation: store, events calendar, newsletter, e-mail, fundraising, all social media accounts, and anyother services that may be offered by Shopping for a Change from time to time (the "Service"). By using this website and /or completing the registration process, you are stating that you AGREE TO BE BOUND BY ALL OF THESE TERMS AND CONDITIONS.
Shopping for a Change® accepts payment by Debit Cards, MasterCard, Visa, Discover and American Express, and uses Shopify Payments to process and encrypt your credit card payment details safely, using the most sophisticated online trading system available. You can tell that the pages are secure because the address in the Address bar changes from being http:// to https://. You should also see a padlock symbol or key in your browsers border.
All purchases made from the Shopping for a Change® web site will appear on your statement as Shopping for a Change, unless you used an American Express card, then it may appear as a charge from Shopify.
2. Processing and Shipping
2.1 All orders placed through our website will be shipped in 1-2 business days. If you need to guarantee they are processed immediately, please email or call us to confirm we can meet your in-hands date. Orders@shoppingforachange.org or 650-488-7088 Pacific Time.
2.2 We ship throughout the United States. Shipping internationally is a bit tricky. If you would like us to ship elsewhere in the world, we're happy to do so, however it's been our experience that the calculated international shipping during checkout is not 100% accurate, so if there are any discrepancies, we will issue the appropriate refund or request additional funds. If you would prefer, you may contact us prior to placing your order so we can get a shipping estimate for you beforehand and find the most cost effective method for you. Also, please note that shipping charges will not be inclusive of any international customs or duty charges you may incur upon receipt.
2.2 We offer a choice of USPS EXPRESS Mail, USPS Priority Mail or Fedex Ground, Standard Overnight or Priority Overnight services. Please note that USPS only guarantees their Priority Mail EXPRESS delivery times, not their regular Priority Mail quoted delivery times. We cannot be held responsible for late deliveries unless they are shipped by a guaranteed delivery method. Packages can ship to P.O. boxes, APO and FPO addresses using USPS. We can also ship overseas using our DHL account.
3 Once your order is shipped, you will receive a tracking number. You may check the status of your order at https://tools.usps.com/go/TrackConfirmAction!input.action if shipped via USPS, or http://www.fedex.com when shipped by Fedex.
3. Non-Received Orders
Please take the time to review your order before submitting it for processing. Make certain your address is entered properly as Shopping For A Change® is not responsible for items that have not been received due to an incorrect or changed address.
4. Refused and Unclaimed Shipments
A $10 fee per package will be charged for all refused or re-routed shipments returned to Shopping for a Change® by the carrier. This fee is in addition to any re-shipping fee, and is required before any re-shipping will take place.
We do not refund shipping charges for either direction on such returns.
5. Return Policy
Your satisfaction and support are extremely important to us, and the livelihoods of our artisan communities. Giving value to their crafts and purchasing them through a global marketplace empowers them in a self-sustaining way, enabling them to help themselves transform their lives. They take great pride in their work,as do we. Because of the handmade nature of their wares, every item is one-of-a-kind. Please expect slight variances from piece to piece, and measurements are approximate. Many of the materials are from nature so like us, they will all have their own unique characteristics. Should you feel for some reason the need to return an item within 30 days, please contact us: email@example.com, explaining the reason you’d like to make a return, and each situation will be assessed on an individual basis. Upon our receiving notification of the return, you will receive a RMA (Return Merchandize Authorization). YOU MUST WRITE THIS NUMBER ON THE FRONT OF THE PACKAGE, OTHERWISE YOUR RETURN WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED AND/OR YOU MAY NOT RECEIVE A REFUND OR CREDIT.
6. Modifying or cancelling an order
If you desire to cancel or change an order, please click on: info@shoppingforachange, or call (650) 488-7088. Provided your order has not already shipped, we will try to accommodate your request.
7. Links To Third Party Sites
7.1 The links included within the service may let you leave the service web sites ("linked sites"). The linked sites are not under the control of Shopping for a Change® and Shopping for a Change® is not responsible for the contents of any linked site or any link contained in a linked site, or any changes or updates to such sites.
7.2 Shopping for a Change® is not responsible for webcasting or any other form of transmission received from any linked site. Shopping for a Change® is providing these links to you only as a convenience, and the inclusion of any link does not imply endorsement by Shopping for a Change® of the site or any association with their operators.
8. Limitation of Liability
8.1 Shopping for a Change® will not be liable to you in respect of any loss or damage which may be suffered or incurred by you or which may arise either directly or indirectly or in respect of your use ofthe Service. To the extent permitted by law Shopping for a Change® shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, punitive, incidental, special, consequential damages or any damages whatsoever including, without limitation, damages for loss of use, data or profits, arising out of or in any way connected with the use or performance of the Service, with the delay or inability to use the Service, the provision of or failure to provide Services, or for any information, software, products, services and related graphics obtained through the Service, or otherwise arising out of the use of the Service, whether based on contract, tort, negligence, strict liability or otherwise, even if Shopping for a Change® has been advised of the possibility of damages. 10.1 You agree to indemnify and hold Shopping for a Change®, officers, directors and employees, harmless from any claims, actions, applications, arbitration, causes of action, complaints, costs, debts due, demands, terminations, enquiries, judgments and verdicts, at law, in equity or arising under any statute or award (including legal costs), by any third party due to or arising out of your use of or conduct on the Service, including without limit: Your breach of these Terms & Conditions, Your failure to comply with the Terms & Conditions.
11.1 This web site and all the images contained within it are protected by copyright and must not be duplicated or used in any way without prior written authorization from Shopping for a Change®.
18. Shopping for a Change® may amend these Terms of Service
11.2 Shopping for a Change® may amend the Terms & Conditions or policies regarding the use of the Service from time to time. Shopping for a Change® will post any update[s] to the Terms & Conditions on this Web site. By continuing to use the Service, you agree to be bound by the amended Terms & Conditions.
19. Nonprofit codes
11.3 Nonprofit codes may be issued to 501 (c)(3) organizations that have registered with Shopping for a Change as part of our Fundraising for a Change program. If your organization is a 501 (c)(3) and would like to raise funds by your supporters shopping on our site, please click here to learn more, or to register now. Net proceeds are calculated after a 30 day waiting period per sale, and paid out on a quarterly basis,provided the organization has acquired a minimum distribution of $25. If that minimum has not been met, a check will be issued at the conclusion of the upcoming quarter after meeting this criteria.
12. Applicable Law
12.1 In the event that any portion of this Agreement is deemed by a court to be invalid, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
12.2 These Terms & Conditions are governed and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States of America and all disputes arise in connection therewith shall be submitted to the jurisdiction of the courts of the state of California. By purchasing items from this site you are signifying your acceptance of the Terms & Conditions contained herein. If you do not agree with any of the information in these pages, please do not use this site.
