Founded in 2014, with a vision of equality for women everywhere, Kate Collins established Plume Collection with these objectives in mind: to combine traditional craft skills with modern design, and to provide empowerment and equality to women globally. Kate works with artisans from more than 10 countries to execute her designs, each item being meticulously hand crafted. Given the handmade detail of every piece, Plume's products are produced in highly limited quantities on a seasonal basis.
Recently, Plume developed a working partnership with Women for Women, an economic empowerment program for young sex slavery survivors and their mothers started by a Kenyan nonprofit organization called Art and Abolition. Plume will use proceeds from sales to purchase materials and hire trainers for Women for Women Plume supports the artisans’ economic independence providing fair local wages, with a special interest in using her passion for traditional craft skills to positively impact the rights and economic stability of the women artisans she collaborates with. Every purchase made from Plume helps provide economic and social stability to the women artisans they employ.
