Founded in 2006 by Shannon Keith, Sudara’s goal is to empower women to live in freedom from sex-slavery through safe, sustainable living-wage employment. The team knew that safe, steady and living-wage employment would be a pathway to freedom and offer choices for women and their families. Sudara partners with multiple sewing centers in India, and has now helped hundreds of women find freedom from sex slavery. Many of the women have graduated from the training programs offered to them and have started their own tailoring businesses. Others have taken technology or cosmetology courses that were offered to them as well, and have founded great jobs in those fields. Every style in the Sudara line of products is named in honor and celebration of a woman at one of the sewing centers.
