by: Ngwenya Glass
Ngwenya Glass employs 70 workers. Using only recycled glass each piece is handmade & mouth blown. People all over Swaziland collect bottles & are paid per kilo for clean glass. Local schools to do cleanup days in exchange for donations of building materials, or soccer kits. Recycled cooking oil fuels Ngwenya’s furnaces & old newspapers are used for shaping and packing their glass. They believe that by educating children about environmental issues, they’re going to have a chance of saving our planet.
